Thank you for being part of the Baccalieu Bubble community. Together, we’re building a safer, more connected local network free from the manipulation and exploitation of corporate social media.

Welcome to Baccalieu Bubble (“the Platform,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Baccalieu Bubble is a local community social networking platform designed exclusively for residents, business owners, and individuals with strong connections to the Baccalieu region of Newfoundlandand Labrador.

By accessing or using Baccalieu Bubble, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms,please do not use the Platform.

Who May Join

Baccalieu Bubble is intentionally designed as a private, local community network. Membership is restricted to individuals who fall into one or more of the following categories:

Full-time residents of the Baccalieu region and surrounding communities;
Part-time residents, including those with second homes or seasonal properties in the community;
Business owners who operate businesses within the community;
Registered Not-for-Profit organizations providing services within the community.

Additionally, membership may be granted to:

Individuals employed within the community or actively seeking employment in the area
Individuals actively looking to relocate to the community
Former residents maintaining strong connections to the community
Family members of current residents who have significant ties to the area

We reserve the right to verify your eligibility for membership. You may be required to provide proof of your connection to the community.

We reserve the right to verify your eligibility for membership. You may be required to provide proof of your connection to the community, such as:

Proof of residency (utility bills, property ownership, lease agreements);
Business registration or licensing documentation;
Employment verification;
Personal references from existing community members

By registering for an account, you affirm that you meet the eligibility requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

Community-First Philosophy

BaccalieuBubble exists to serve local residents and strengthen community bonds. This Platform is not designed for:

General public access or global social networking;
Marketing to users outside the community;
Data mining or behavioural manipulation;
External corporate advertising or third-party promotional content.

Account Registration and Security

Account Creation

To use Baccalieu Bubble, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You agree to:

Use your real name (pseudonyms and fake accounts are prohibited);
Provide a valid email address
Create a secure password
Keep your account information up to date
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree not to:

Share your password with others;
Allow others to access your account;
Create multiple accounts;
Impersonate another person or entity

Prohibited Content and Conduct:

To maintain a safe, respectful community environment, the following activities are strictly prohibited:

Harassment and Bullying: Trolling, personal attacks, threats, intimidation, or any form of harassment directed at other users;
Hate Speech: Content that is racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group;
Illegal Activity: Content that promotes, facilitates, or engages in illegal activities under Canadian law;
Explicit Content: Pornography, sexually explicit material, or graphic violence;
Misinformation: Deliberately spreading false information, particularly regarding public health, safety, or elections;
Spam: Repetitive posts, unsolicited advertising, or commercial spam unrelated to the local community;
Intellectual Property Violations: Posting copyrighted material without permission or proper attribution;
Privacy Violations: Sharing others’ personal information (doxxing) without consent;
Platform Manipulation: Using bots, scripts, or other automated means to manipulate the Platform;
Malicious Code: Uploading viruses, malware, or any code designed to harm users or the Platform;

Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination of your account.

Content Ownership and Licensing

Your Content Rights

You retain full ownership of all content you post on Baccalieu Bubble.

This includes photos, videos, text posts, comments, and any other materials you upload or share (“User Content”).

Unlike mainstream social media platforms, we do not claim ownership of your content, and we do not grant ourselves broad, perpetual licenses to use your content for commercial purposes.

Limited License for Platform Operation

By posting content on Baccalieu Bubble, you grant us only a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

Display your content to other Platform users as you have designated through your privacy settings
Store and back up your content for Platform operation and security
Reproduce content as technically necessary to operate the Platform

This license exists solely to enable the Platform to function and terminates when you delete your content or close your account.

Content Removal

We do not sell, transfer, or sub-license your content to third parties.

We will not use your content for advertising, marketing, or any purpose beyond Platform operation without your explicit consent.

Removal of Content

You may delete your content at any time. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or applicable laws.

Privacy and Data Protection

No Data Mining or Behavioural Manipulation

Baccalieu Bubble was created specifically to protect users from the invasive data collection and behavioural manipulation practices common on mainstream social media platforms.

We commit to the following privacy principles:

No targeted advertising: We do not track your behavior to serve personalized ads;
No data sales: We never sell your personal information to third parties;
No algorithmic manipulation: We do not use algorithms designed to modify your behaviour or keep you addicted to the
Platform;
No external tracking: We do not share your data with advertisers, marketers, or data brokers;
Local storage: Your data remains within Canada and is not transferred to foreign corporations.

All aspects of the Baccalieu Bubble Platform, including its design, features, code, graphics, logos, and trademarks, are owned by Baccalieu Bubble or its licensors and are protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark laws.
